Landscape configurations.
Landscape configurations tone texture and colour.
7 days / 7 landscapes / 7 mile radius
I have chosen to document the
landscape surrounding the Calder and Spen
Valley Greenway.
It is a sustainable transport
route, set up and managed by Sustrans; a
charitable organisation that builds cycle routes and works with communities.
I am using the formal elements of
visual recording, as a ‘road map’ to further my journey through the landscape.
I found some index cards that join
neatly to make a strip. I began by using line to record the landscape in
panoramic. Then tone, texture and colour.
The panoramic form lends itself to
length (distance from A to B) as an archive of the journey that was taken,
whilst cycling to my observational points.
