Nino, Tako & Merve.

I can hear them singing again, it's the same old tune, they need to expand their repertoire, I keep telling them. I can feel a mini revival coming on. The more things change, the more they stay the same. It was an exclusive, shame to say they didn't win, it's still a sore point, here you go.

Version #1. Eurovision Song Contest insider info!!! Meet JUSHI. The Romanian 1999 Eurovision Song Contestants. They are rehearsing in Nino's sisters garage, until they reach the big time, which will begin when they win this years contest in Israel May 29th.

The 3 piece will continue working in Tako's Salon by day and going through their choreography by night. Merve is Nino's dad and Tako is Nino's girlfriend. You must be dying to hear their song. It's called 'Kescho Mi Mi,' which loosely translates as, '**** on me. 'From the top guys.
Version #2. Exclusive! Inside the Eurovision Song Contest, 1999 in Israel. Meet JUSHI. The Romanian entry. Look at them rehearsing in Nino's garage. Listen to their song. It's called 'Kescho Mi Mi,' which loosely translates as, 'Same outfit, different venue.'

Only 3 weeks ago, Merve's career as a professional body builder ended in scandal. Say no more. Merve formed the band after discovering Tako somewhere very obscure, believe me. His lifetime thirst for fame, is but a routine away, choreography being his secret weapon.

Tako would be the first to tell you, JUSHI, is a happening. The culmination of a bizarre chain of events and here the dream begins. Ladies and Gentlemen, a big hand, PLEASE!
Look at them, they just don't know when to stop.

-------------
I often joke that I can still hear them singing the same old crappy song and now I must set them free, or let them start singing in the head of someone else, as well as my own ....
Stay tuned for:-1, Kay: The Student on Acid from Germany. (True Story.) 2, S#: The Call Centre Associate from Croydon. (True Story.) 3, Rodah & Ronda: The Conjoined Twins. (Based on a true story.) 4,The Lesbian Wedding in Islington. (True Story.) And more.

Drawing inspired by the work of Charles Mikolaycak.

This drawing is inspired by the work of Charles Mikolaycak.
This one took 8 hours to complete.
I recreated this image in pencil and ink from the the cover illustration of a book entitled, "In the morning of time."
"It is a novelized re-telling of Norse mythology, as it is related to the two Icelandic Eddas.
The loss of the world's innocence, exemplified by the death of a god, Balder is the theme, although other Norse deities are skilfully introduced in the development of this theme."
* Library Journal.
The book - In the morning of time: The story of the Norse God Balder, was written by Cynthia King. Published by Scholastic Book Services in 1970. It includes several illustrations by Charles Mikolaycak.
I like the symbolism within the image I have chosen to recreate.
Although I don't fully understand the narrative yet as I have not read the novel.
Note the beard is shaped like a ship buoyant upon the ocean, or is it the mouth of a whale?
A tree or sail-scape is juxtaposed, what with the helmet of the bearded one amongst the shadowy clouds.
I have added light and reflection from a celestial body, but which one?
Very Mount Rushmoresque. Four faces, noses, eyes.

Long Queues 4 Banksy Versus Bristol Museum.

The queue for Banksy Versus Bristol Museum is very long.
Here is a panoramic photograph taken from the opposite side of the street from the museum on Queens Road, 06/08/09. The exhibition continues until the end of August. I didn't visit the exhibition on the day I captured this image of the queue as it snakes up University Road. I went back the next day, 07/08/09 and queued for one and three quarter hours before it opened at 10 am. I was 14th in the queue, I met two lovely people, Andrew and Dave from Bristol. We talked about anything and everything to pass the time. I saw families who had brought their own fold-a-way chairs to sit on. Coach loads of people arrived. I wonder how pleased Banksy and Bristol must be about the success of the exhibition in terms of the body count?

I was impressed and delighted by the content and range of his work. I got some ace photos. There are some classics and some funny twists hidden around the museum and galleries. One of my favourites has to be the chicken nuggets. Happy queueing!
Both sides of exhibition flyer scanned with kind permission.
